Nicola and Joel’s Wedding At East Sussex National Hotel, Golf Club And Spa

A wedding at East Sussex National has become quite commonplace in recent times. I often do photography there – I even have a sample album at the venue, and I’m one of their recommended photographers! When Nicola and Joel booked me for their celebration, I already knew what to expect. Lots of spectacular views, neutral decor and many, many smiles!

There are two things I love most about a wedding at East Sussex National Hotel. One of them is shooting portraits at the golf courses, the backdrop is just simply spectacular! Pro tip: if you’re having a golf club wedding, you should head down there during sunset since there are fewer golfers around, and the scenery is breathtaking. The second thing is the rounded shape reception room upstairs. I can easily set up my lighting to capture all kinds of unique moments, be it cake cutting, speeches, first dances or just people having genuine fun! The photos always end up looking beautiful! It's an amazing room to have your reception.

We started by taking getting-ready photos of Nicola, while Joel didn’t opt for them. Instead, we had a short shoot with the guys in the afternoon; they loved the pictures since they were as cool as them! After the beautiful ceremony, we did confetti inside the building at the main hall. Anywhere else, I usually take these kinds of pictures outside, but it works really well indoors too. Afterwards, we took group shots in front of the venue, and they had the wedding breakfast and the speeches.

Then we had some time to take some images with Joel and his groomsmen in the car park. I know the car park sounds a bit less glamorous but I chose it because I thought it worked very well and I think it did :)

The couple then proceeded with the cake cutting and the first dance.

As we were getting nearer to sunset it was the perfect time to go to the golf courses on a golf buggy for some intimate pictures. Their portraits looked so romantic during the golden hour!

When we came back they headed to the dance floor. Literally, everyone was dancing their hearts out, and I got the photos to prove it!

I would like to give the most heartful thanks to Nicola and Joel for including me in their wedding at East Sussex National, and I wish them all the happiness the in the world. You can check out all the photos in the gallery and see how much love oozes out of them!

Also a huge thank you to Beth and Emily and the whole team at the hotel for always being so friendly and helpful and making the wedding days go so smoothly. Don't hesitate to contact me if you’re looking for a photographer and like my work. I would love to capture your love story!
