Whenever there’s an alternative wedding venue I need to shoot at, my excitement levels go all the way up! When Jie And Freddie booked me for their Pilgrims Rest Battle wedding, I knew we would have an amazing time! The least I can say is that my expectations were fully met! Allow me to show you the couple’s unique celebration.

One year before their celebration, I took photos of Jie and Freddie for their pre-wedding session. It was an amazing opportunity for us to get to know each better, and for the couple to end up with some breathtaking pictures.
We actually did the shoot just behind the venue on a beautiful field on a nice summer evening.
This is actually a great spot to take photos on a wedding day too.

Both Jie and Freddie got ready at the venue, on opposite sides of the building, so they didn’t see each other. Their furry companion was with them every step of the way, and let me tell you – Leela was quite the charmer!
We had an amazing ceremony then we did confetti in front of the Pilgrims Rest.
They had their drink reception and wedding breakfast.
We capture some portraits in the groom getting ready room.
If you’re interested there’s an option for photoshoots inside the abbey, but you do require permission for it.
Later in the evening, we also took some photos in the little serene flower garden in front of the building. The night continued with various foods, and the DJ kept the guests dancing throughout the whole celebration! We finished this amazing wedding with a sparkler exit which we did in front of the abbey.
