Oh, how I love a Herstmonceux Castle wedding! So when I got the invitation to shoot Adella and Ricky’s big day there, I was really excited! I have done plenty of pre-wedding and model shoots there, but capturing a couple's big day there is the best! Allow me to share how everything went down.
The first you should know about a Herstmonceux Castle wedding is that they’re pretty exclusive, they take a very limited number of bookings. Just by going through the gallery, you’ll get the idea of why it’s so desired – everything looks so regal and sophisticated!
A fairytale castle wedding. Make your way across the bridge and lose yourself within 300 acres of period gardens and ancient woodland, all surrounding a 15th-century moated castle.
A month before their wedding, we met for some pre-wedding session fun. I love doing this with all of my couples as it allows me to get to know them better, show them some poses and take some incredibly romantic photos. I captured their story on the beach at Camber Sands. You can see some of their photos among other beautiful romantic pre-wedding photos in this gallery. Just click the link below.
Adella was getting ready in the Board Room which is perfect because there is enough
room for everyone to get ready at the same time and even space for the kids to play.
The couple also booked the Castle Suite where the bride's father saw her for the first time – it was such a heartwarming moment! We also used the room for a few portraits with Ricky and Adella in the afternoon.
The ceremony took place at the cloisters and the courtyard, while the reception was at the Castle Ballroom. Before everyone entered, I invited the couple for some intimate shots in the reception area – I very often do these photos and they always turn out so cool!
After the speeches, we went to the romantic garden of this luxury wedding venue for the main couple portraits; the results were majestic!
We also took some really cool pictures of the guys in front of the castle. They were all dressed in Peaky Blinders-themed attire and looked so dapper!
Then there was cake cutting and the first dance and
Ricky and Adella had a sparkler exit too which is always so exciting to shoot!
I wish the couple all the luck in the world! I was so honoured they invited me to be a part of their new chapter together. Look through the gallery, since words are not enough to grasp the beauty of this Herstmonceux Castle wedding!
